…The Artist

I am a Haitian-American creative from Miami, Florida specializing in film photography and visual art. I graduated from the University of North Florida, where I majored in communication with a concentration in public relations and a minor in sociology.
As I navigated life after college, I made time to travel and found myself documenting the many experiences along the way by shooting film. This platform showcases many of those endeavors and is primarily curated by myself.
I have been an active photographer and creative for 5 years now. I’ve worked in various photo/film processing labs, collaborated with many other personalities and have had my work displayed at the Bellows Film Lab Atlanta Photo Gallery.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing chess, making music, biking, and spending time with close family and friends. I am currently local to the Jacksonville area and open to any ideas for photo shoots or projects.
…The Art
When I first began my journey in photography, I never gave much thought to the types of things I would capture. Instead, I approached it with a “just do it” mentality and captured everything that interested me. Since then, part of my process for documenting film has become more calculated. It provides elements of simplicity, symmetry and composure.
The images featured on my site are organized into 3 genres I’ve adopted as the basis for my photography. I like to think of these images as stories containing various characters from different chapters of my life.
CONSTRUCT gives way to the literal meaning of the word, depicting images of man-made structures, and objects. Yet, this genre is also meant to portray a figurative sense of expression. It is a combination of conceptual ideas and physical elements left to one’s own interpretations and opinions.
Perspective can also be described as “point of view.” It is a particular attitude or way of looking at something. The images within this category are taken from multiple angles, rely mainly on vision and experimentation. I want this genre to be representative of the many personalities, experiences and outlooks that I encounter.
The BLK & WTE series displays shades of achromatic value. Changes in tonality, contrast and exposure are what make these images unique. They draw the line between light, dark, chaos, harmony, “Yin and Yang.”
Flime Ties is my first hard-cover photography zine released back in 2022. It features illustrations from a close friend of mine and a selection of images taken on my first film camera: Canon AE-1 Program. Throughout the zine I also include excerpts of poetry, gratitude and short stories.
